Hexloom Chat Archive is not a price cut: at $29 a year it sits next to ChatGPT Exporter. The difference is what the paid tier is for.
Where we differ
- Nothing is uploaded. Chat Archive reads the page you have open and writes the file in your browser. It makes no network requests of its own: no analytics, no server. You can confirm that in your browser's network tab. We cannot speak for how the other tools handle your text; check their privacy policies.
- Paid means archiving, not formats. Markdown and JSON are free in every tool here, so we charge for the work that is tedious by hand: saving your whole history, keeping a folder up to date, and searching it.
- One tool for three assistants. ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini in one extension and one archive.
Where the others are better
- If you need PDF or Word output, the other tools offer it and Chat Archive does not.
- If you want Notion sync, AI Exporter offers it.
- If you only ever export a single chat to Markdown, every tool here does it free and you do not need Pro.
Known limits of Chat Archive
No attachments, and images are linked rather than embedded. Bulk archive is off on claude.ai. The extension reads the rendered page, so a site redesign can break it until we update. It is not affiliated with OpenAI, Anthropic or Google, and it was written with AI assistance. Full details are on the product page.
