Remove hidden metadata from a batch of files
Author names, comments, tracked changes, revision history and other hidden data can travel inside a PDF or Office file. Send us up to 25 files and we mail back clean copies with a written report of what was found and removed.
This service is carried out by an AI-assisted process, with automated checks on every output file (each clean copy is re-parsed and checked again for author and document-info fields, and the report says so). It is not a human review.
What you get
- Clean copies of up to 25 files (PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX), sent as one zip link by email.
- A written report per file: what hidden data was present, what was removed, and what was left in place.
- Tracked changes are accepted: deleted text is dropped and inserted text is kept, and the report says so.
- One round of fixes if the report or a file is not what you described.
What is not covered
- Visible content. We do not redact text you can see on the page; for that, use your own review.
- Scanned images of text, password-protected or corrupted files, and files over 50 MB each.
- Legal, compliance or forensic certification. The report is a record of what our process did, not legal advice.
- Digital signatures: cleaning a signed PDF or Office file breaks the signature, and the report says so. Images inside files keep their own metadata, printer settings and tool stamps (such as the PDF producer) can remain and are named in the report, and fonts and visible content are left as they are.
- Calls or meetings. Everything is by email.
How it works
- Pay US$39 on the secure Stripe checkout page.
- Email your files from the address you paid with. The confirmation page and your receipt give the address, and it is also on the support page. By sending files you confirm you have the right to send them.
- Within 48 hours of receiving them we email a download link with the clean files and the report. If a file cannot be processed, we say which and why, and it does not count toward your 25.
Your files and your privacy
- Files you send are used only for this job. Ask us to delete your files and we delete our working copies, including the clean copies, within about 7 days of your request. The mailbox copy of your message expires on its own after 90 days.
- We do not read your files for any other purpose, sell them, or use them to train anything.
- Your email address is used for delivery and receipts only. See the privacy policy.
Refunds
Ask within 14 days of paying and we refund the purchase in full. Write from the email address you paid with; the address is on the support page. See the terms.
Order
Limits: up to 25 files per order, 50 MB each, PDF, DOCX, XLSX or PPTX. Our mailbox stores messages only up to 512 KB, so send any file larger than that as a share link you create (Google Drive, Dropbox or WeTransfer) that stays valid for a week; small files can go as attachments. One order covers one batch of up to 25 files; for more, place a second order.

After payment the confirmation page tells you where to send your files. Nothing is processed until your files arrive, and you can ask for a full refund within 14 days.
